This is an update to my previous review. This is a very good antenna for those with or without limited space. So far these are intact with no evidence of cracking or splits. I had our club's 4BTV up in my back yard for several weeks and compared to my ft horizontal loop, it did quite well and at times did better. This can be easily done by winding around 10 - 15 turns of coax on a 4" former, fastening with plastic wraps or tape and then removing the former so that the coil is air wound.
I used the manufacturer's instructions for the dimensions, but I followed the recommendations in the DX Engineering manual in other respects.
4-Band Vertical 40m - 10m Hustler 4-BTV
Additional Information manufacturer Hustler. As an added bonus it also tunes up on 6m using the internal AMU. It is a popular myth that radials have to be a quarter wave long. If you need details email me through Eham or my call sign. My installation has a low VSWR at resonance on all bands but it approaches 2. I decided to mount the 4BTV at the apex of the roof about 15' upand I ran between 2 and 4 cut to frequency radials for each band that come off and down at a slight angle from the base of the antenna.
